What is Pilates?
Pilates is a body and mind integration that was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's. The fundamental principals focus on balance, concentration, control, centered awareness, fluid movements, and breath. Pilates strengthens the core, increases flexibility, coordination, and tones the whole body working the muscles from the inside out. Pilates is for everybody from rehabilitation to an athlete. Pilates will develop and enhance stamina, posture, alignment and core strength for elite performance to everyday activities.
